About Uday Foundation

Spreading smiles since 2014.

Team Uday volunteers and community members

Our beginning

In loving memory of Uday K. Shetty.

Uday Foundation was founded on 11 September 2014 in memory of a philanthropist devoted to serving the aged community—people he lovingly called “old children”.

Mr Uday Shetty believed that care is most meaningful when it preserves dignity and brings genuine joy. The Foundation carries that belief forward through practical help, companionship and celebration.

Our mission

Spread smiles.

Across India, elderly people face abandonment, homelessness and ill-treatment. We conduct music, dance and community programmes at old-age homes so residents can share moments of connection and joy.

Our vision

Eliminate hunger.

We organise monthly food and grocery distribution drives for less privileged and hungry communities across urban and rural Mumbai, helping people remain healthy and active participants in society.

How we work

Little steps go a long way.

Every month, Team Uday raises funds and responds to requests from old-age homes, retirement facilities, orphanages, Gurudwara langars, remote villages and vulnerable communities. On 15 March 2021, the Foundation began Roti दे—a monthly initiative dedicated to feeding people in need.

Our volunteers celebrate the 15th of every month as Roti दे day. Together, they prepare, organise and deliver food, groceries and essential items where they are needed most.
